Susan F. Byrd

Susan Byrd of Lake Wales passed away Thursday, July 30, 2009, at her residence.

She was born June 3, 1950, in Avon Park to the late Melton & Eva Farabee; she came here from Avon Park in 1960. She was a payroll administrator for Hunt Brothers and a very active member of the New Harvest Worship Center. She loved to sew, quilt and spend time with her family.

Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Vern Byrd. Survivors include her daughter, Stephanie Carter of Lake Wales; son, Steven Carter of Lake Wales; sister, Barbara Norton of Avon Park; and three grandchildren: Taylor and Austin Carter and Kim Caban.

The funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, August 1, 2009, at the New Harvest Worship Center with the visitation starting at 3:00 PM. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
