Steven Szeberenyi Alexander was born on November 4, 1925 in Budapest, Hungary.
He died July 5, 2015 of lung cancer. Steven escaped the Communist Regime with his brother, George, during the 1959 Hungarian evolution. They came to New York and become proud American citizens. As a licensed professional civil engineer, Steven worked in many states including NY, CA, KY, FL and VT. While working with the Metropolitan Water District in Los Angeles he met his wife, Carolyn. They married in 1969 and later moved to Albany, NY, where Steven worked with the Smith & Mahoney Engineering Firm. In 1984 they moved to Orlando, FL. Steven worked at Mayes Sudderds and Etheridge before retiring in 1988. He was the general contractor for the home he built at Orange Tree Golf Club where he and his wife happily lived for 30 years. He was an avid golfer as a member of OTGC, but also played other sports including tennis, skeet shooting and fencing. He studied piano and enjoyed classical music performed by Horowitz and other top artists. During his life time he had many hobbies and the ability to repair most anything. He built furniture for his home and spent long hours working in his workshop. Steven is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Carolyn; daughters Dr. Kati (Geza) Szeberenyi and Dr. Zsuzsi Szeberenyi ; grandchildren Dr. Flora Farago Szabo, Eszter, Aaron and great granddaughter, Zsuzsi; sister-in-law, Pam Miller; cousins Zsolt Szeberenyi & family and nephew, Daniel Szeberenyi.
