Stephen Neal Conner

Stephen Neal Conner of Lake Wales, Florida passed away on August 21, 2026, at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Lakeland at the age of 71. He was born on July 6, 1955, in Lake Wales to Bob and Laura Conner. Steve grew up in Lake Wales and shortly after graduating from Lake Wales High School in 1973, he began his career with GTE (Verizon) as a field technician. His career was an important part of his life and the many years serving customers and working alongside his colleagues. He worked with the phone company for 35+ years until his retirement.

Like all of us, Steve had imperfections, but he also had qualities that made him special to his family and many friends. We will remember him with love, forgiveness and the good times.

Steve is survived by his daughters Ashley Hooten and husband Hesston, Alyse Scianimanico and husband Frank, and his son Neal Conner and wife Taylor and 15 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Rob Conner and wife Wendy and sister Anne Peavy along with many nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a private service to celebrate and honor his life
