Stella Spence

Stella Spence of Frostproof passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Sebring.

She was born January 7, 1935 in Grahn, Kentucky to the late Willis & Sarah Katherine (Knipp) Barker; she came here in 1975 from Ohio. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Frostproof. She loved to go to yard sales and playing bingo and cards. She also enjoyed fishing and liked old country music.

Stella was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Spence, and a brother, Cledith Barker. Survivors include her five sons & two daughters, Ron (Brenda) Spence, James (Kathi) Spence, Don (Ginger) Spence, Sandy Macartney, Tony (Debra) Spence, Pat Spence and Sonja (Greg) Dale all of Frostproof; four brothers & one sister, Glen Barker of Grayson, KY, Arville Barker of Alliance, OH, Donald Barker of Grahn, KY, Pauline Fuller of Rush, KY and George Barker of Grahn, KY; 23 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Thursday, October 29, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, October 30, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Frostproof with Rev. Darrol Hood officiating. Interment will follow at the Silver Hill Cemetery.
