Shirley True

Shirley Mae True of Gainesville passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Haven Hospice in Gainesville.

She was born May 30, 1926 in West City, IL to the late B. Roy & Opal L. Loman; she moved from Gainesville to Lake Wales in 1980 and returned to Gainesville in 2003. She was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith. She was a member of the Lake Wales Country Club, enjoyed golfing, was an avid Gator fan and liked watching all sports. She was employed by the University of Florida as an executive secretary.

Shirley was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth M. Gilbraith and second husband, Charles E. True Sr. and her son, Kenneth R. Gilbraith.

Survivors include her daughter- in- law , Mary E. Gilbraith of Gainesville; step-sons, Charles E. True Jr and his wife, Carol of Frostproof, Ronald L. True and his wife, Marcella of Lake Wales and Mark C. True and his wife, Debbie of Highland Village, TX; sister-in-law, Doris Loman of Benton, IL; ten grandchildren, including Kelly M. Nesmith and her husband, John of Tallahassee; and many great-grandchildren, including granddaughters Julia & Charley Nesmith.

Graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
