Shirley Ann Helm

Shirley A. Helm, 70 of Lake Wales, Florida passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at Grace Healthcare.

She was born December 12, 1947 in Haines City, Florida to the late Jimmie and Eloise (Giddens) Conner and she has been a lifelong resident of this area. She was a retired caregiver in child care and of the Baptist faith. Shirley was an avid reader and photographer, loved the outdoors and camping, she was a great cook and always loved being around children.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Matthew Starnes. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Gary Helm; daughter, Laurie Helm of Orlando; son, Jeff Helm (Marilyn) of Lake Wales; sisters, Carol Grinner of Auburndale and Marsha Hoffner of Davenport; brothers, Anthony Conner of Alturas and Darrell Conner of Arkansas; three grandchildren, Tanner and Madison Helm, Haley Starnes.

Celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
