Shirley Lillyan Goldstein, 81

Shirley Lillyan Goldstein of Lake Wales passed away Friday, June 9, 2023 at her residence.

She was born March 28, 1942 in Whitman, Massachusetts to the late Henri and Elizabeth Schmikler; she moved to Lake Wales from Panama ten years ago. Shirley was a retired staffing executive, a member of HighPoint Church, and a graduate of Boston University. She was a special education teacher, moved to Atlanta Ga 1974, taught for a few years, then became a district Manager for Norell Service, then in 2003 joining Source 2 executive placement source of Orlando.

While raising her daughter Stacy in Marietta, Georgia, now wife of Kristoffer Mucci of Smyrna, Georgia, Shirley met Allen (both being complete opposites at the time) on January 28,1989. They were then married on September 9 of the same year. For 33 years their love has grown and nurtured a marriage of the Mason Dixon line.

Shirley, besides being an avid golfer, professional businesswomen, and great mother, became the stepmother of 3 adult children Winifred Baron Goldstein of Canton Georgia, Mitch Goldstein of Cartersville, Georgia, and Jodi Beyer Sanford of Florida; granddaughter Sammi Beyer, Director of Clinical Psychology Banyan Group of Boca Raton Florida; and grandson Tate Beyer, 2nd year Law student at Florida A&M.

Shirley traveled the world with Allen to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, and to Panama, Central America where they lived for five years. Her favorite destination was Hawaii.

Shirley is also survived by her sisters, Lee Duby of Atlanta, Georgia, and Susan Joseph and her husband, Alan of Natic, Massachusetts.

The week before Shirley passed, she often said how lucky she was to live in Lake Wales and Lake Ashton with so many caring friends.

A celebration of life will be scheduled at HighPoint Church with Rev. Jack Hilligoss officiating.
