Shirley P. Braxton

Shirley Braxton of Lake Wales passed away Friday, January 28, 2011 at the Bartow Healthcare & Rehab Center. She was born November 17, 1947 to the Late Norman P. and Lyda (Buxton) Padgett, Sr. she has been a Lifelong resident of the Lake Wales area. She was a Homemaker, enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing, she loved animals, enjoyed good southern gospel music, very devoted and loving mother, loved her dog – Shorty, she was strong in her faith and was of the Baptist Faith.

Shirley was preceded in death by her Parents, Norman P. and Lyda (Buxton) Padgett, Sr Survivors include her Husband, Edward E. Braxton of 35 Yrs., Daughters, Melody Braxton and Charity Braxton both of Lake Wales; Sisters, Dorothy Dean of Lake Wales, Mildred Gardner of Lakeland; Brother, Norman Padgett, Jr. of Babson Park; 1 Grandson, Clinton Acreman of Lake Wales

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 01, 2011 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home with Rev. John Cannon officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Monday, January 31, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home.
