Sherrie Lynn Crooks of Lake Wales passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Orlando Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family and friends.
She was born May 19, 1952 in Grand Rapids, MI to the late John and Elizabeth Groendyke and moved here three years ago from Ithaca, MI. She retired after 48 years as a nurse and was of the Christian faith. Prior to her nursing career, she worked at Dog-n-Suds fast food restaurant. She loved quilting and reading her bible. She loved her family and the Lord and will be greatly missed.
Sherrie was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Groendyke. Survivors include her husband of 14 years, Steve Crooks; daughters, Elizabeth Himmellberger (Leroy) of Wellsboro, PA, Susanne Marable (Robert) of Sacramento, CA and Melissa Fogarty (Michael) of Everson, WA; sisters, Joan VanOtteran (Don) of Lowell, MI, Beth Cable (Jeff) of Grand Rapids, MI and Barb Huizinga (Jack) of Ada, MI; sister-in-law, Judy Groendyke of Middleville, MI; twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; beloved cat, Molly and dog, Missy.
