Sarah G. Hall

Sarah G. "Granny" Hall of Lake Wales passed away Thursday, August 27, 2009 at the Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale due to cancer.

She was born December 16, 1925 in Madisonville, PA to the late Everett & Mary (Burkart) McLain; she came here in 1947 from Madisonville, PA. She was a registered nurse at Lake Wales Medical Center for 47 years and a member of the First Christian Church. She was also a member of the Lake Wales V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary and loved to play bingo.

Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan B. Hall. Survivors include her daughters, Virginia Hooks of Ozark, AL, Mary Jane Brantley of Fort Meade and Doris E. Gutierriez of Lake Wales; son, Donald Hall of Virginia Beach, VA; brother, Harry McLain of Madisonville, PA; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 30, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with visitation at 1:00 PM.
