Samuel Engler Kipe, Jr.

Samuel Engler Kipe, Jr. of Lake Wales passed away Thursday, July 9, 2009 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

He was born June 28, 1926 in Cascade, MD to the late Samuel Engler & Agnes Madeline (McClain) Kipe Sr.; he came here in 1962 from Smithburg, MD. He was a master wood worker, a member of the Lake Wales Alliance Church and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was also a member of the American Legion.

Samuel was preceded in death by Audrey Lillie Kipe in 1988. Survivors include his wife, Doris Yvonne Kipe; daughters, Yvonne Kipe Cannon of Frostproof, Linda Nickerson of Ocoee, Pauline VanHoose of Orlando, Shirley Greer of Melbourne, Mary Johnson of Orlando and Theresa Blizard of Orlando; sons, Jeffrey L. Kipe of Lake Wales, Samuel E. Kipe III of Lake Wales, Bob Harbour of New Hampshire, Michael Harbour of New Hampshire, William Harbour of Sun City, James Harbour of St. Pete, John Harbour of Orlando and Steven Harbour of Wisconsin; sister, Eleanor Kline of Hagertown, MD; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Monday, July 13, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM, Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at the Lake Wales Alliance Church. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
