FORT PAYNE, Ala. -- Mrs. Sally Youngblood of Fort Payne, Ala., formerly of Lake Wales, died of heart failure Thursday (Sept. 7, 2006) in Birmingham, Ala. She was 70.

Born in Wheeling, W.Va., on May 12, 1936, she came to Lake Wales from Arlington, Va., in 1964, moving away in 1965, and returning in 1981. She was a retired registered nurse for Lake Wales Medical Center. She graduated from Augustana School of Nursing in Chicago. She was a volunteer for the VOICE program in Lake Wales. She was a member of Lake Wales Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Youngblood was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Youngblood. She is survived by her daughter, Cecelia Ann Youngblood, Fort Payne; son, Alan Youngblood, Ocala; brother, David Carl, Broad Run, Va.; one grandchild.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Lake Wales Lutheran Church. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
