Sallie G. “Teddie” Poynter of Lakeland passed away Sunday, October 14, 2012 at the Consulate Healthcare in Lakeland.

Teddie was born November 11, 1921 in Richmond, Kentucky to the late William T. and Rhoda (Griffith) Reffett and has been a Florida resident since 1948. She was a homemaker, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Bartow and member of Wayside Baptist Church of Lake Wales She was always happy to have her grandchildren spend the weekend with her and J.C... They baked pizza and played board games and had a lot of fun. She loved having family and friends over for breakfast or dinner. One of her specialties was sausage, biscuits and gravy. She was a loving Mother and Grandmother.

Sallie was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Poynter Survivors include son, Jim Poynter (wife Sharen) of Lakeland; sisters, Gladys Blackford of Bartow, Edna Geurin of Phoenix, AR; Grandchildren, Maria of Naples, FL., Michael Poynter of Conifer, Co and Greg Poynter of Lithia, FL.; 7 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild and her best friend Lilly Grubbs of Lake Wales

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, October 19, 2012 at the Wayside Baptist Church with Herb Schlenker officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday October 19, from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will be held at the Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow.
