Russell Leroy Pangle

Russell Leroy Pangle of Lake Wales passed away Friday, February 27, 2015 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

He was born August 30, 1937 in Van Wert, OH to the late Robert & Eva Pangle; and he came here in 1972 from Van Wert, OH. He retired from Florida’s Natural after 30 years and was a veteran of Vietnam, serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was a former member of the American Legion Post 8 in Winter Haven, the Moose Lodge 2391 in Lake Wales, Lake Wales Elks Club 1974 and Am Vets Ohio Post 0698.

Russell was preceded in death by his son, Wayne Pangle and two brothers, Robert and Howard Pangle.

Survivors include his wife, Ophelia Pangle; daughters, Francis Woods of Van Wert, OH, Faith Wallace of Van Wert, OH, Fonda Callahan of Van Wert, OH, Sherrie Shivers of Americus, GA, Patricia McMullen of Babson Park and Mary Porras of Lake Wales; sons, Paul Pangle of Leesburg, GA, Kenneth Jefferies of Muscle Shoals, AL and Joseph Jefferies of Muscle Shoals, AL; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held at a later date.
