Rupert Newman, 75

Rupert Newman of Lake Wales passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Advent Health Lake Wales.

He was born December 15, 1945 in Jamaica, Saint Catherine to the late Levi and Hilda Newman. Rupert worked for Home Depot. He attended the 7 ^th Day Adventist Church of Lake Wales but was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church and he loved to sing.

Rupert is survived by his wife of 53 years, Myrtle Newman; sons, Glenval “Roger” Newman of Jamaica, Garett Newman of Jamaica, and Terence “Oral” Newman of England; sisters, Salvaleta Newman of Jamaica, and Iseland of England; brother, Ralph Newman of England; seven grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, May 13, 2021 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Lake Wales with Pastor Monte Robison officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Wales Memorial Gardens.
