OCALA--Ruby Monroe Walters, 98, of Ocala died of heart failure Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at the Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala.
Born February 04, 1909 in Tampa; she was the last surviving child of Edna (Hillard) and John Monroe who were early Frostproof residences. She lived in Frostproof most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Frostproof where she played the piano for many years. She was also active with the Frostproof Historical Society.
Mrs. Walters was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Will Tom Walter. Ruby is survived by her niece, Jean (Monroe) Foster of Bonita Springs; and 5 grand nieces and nephews, Dean Davis of Fort Myers; Phil Davis of Auburn, AL; Karen (Davis) Holzhauser of Ocala; Suzanne Cole Smith of Ocala; Gary Cole of Tampa. She had 19 great grand nieces and nephews; and 3 great great grand nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 30, 2007 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. Interment will follow at the Silver Hill Cemetery.
