FROSTPROOF -- Mrs. Ruby Christine McFarland of Frostproof died of heart failure Monday (Jan. 23, 2006) at Spring Lake Nursing Home. She was 86.

Born in Okeechobee on Jan. 18, 1920, she came to Frostproof from Lake County in 1943. She was a homemaker. She was of the Church of God faith.

Mrs. McFarland was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Nicholas McFarland. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Gail Meeks, Lakeland; sons, Thurman Dean McFarland, St. Cloud, Nathan D. McFarland, Frostproof; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at Silver Hill Cemetery in Frostproof.
