FROSTPROOF -- Mrs. Ruby Knight of Frostproof died of heart failure Thursday (Oct. 20, 2005) at The Groves Center. She was 89.
Born Nov. 24, 1915, in Slocomb, Ala., Mrs. Knight moved to Frostproof in 1998. She worked as a sectionizer for Donald Duck citrus. She attended Church of God, Dover.
Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. "Pappy" Knight. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Stevenson, Phoenix City, Ala., Ruby Hanks, Frostproof, Martha Taylor and Cathleen Argoe, both of Tampa, Darlene Junken, Atlanta, Ga.; sons, Howard Lee, Frostproof, Grady Lee, Tampa, Milton "Buddy" Lee, Lakeland; brother, Clarence Lockard, DeFuniak Springs; sisters, Ann Smith, Apopka, Mary Oalmann, New Orleans, Billie Jo Whitlock, Tampa; 27 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Frostproof. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
