LAKE WALES -- Mrs. Ruby Lee Hammond of Lake Wales died of heart failure Thursday (Feb. 9, 2006) at Kindred Healthcare in Tampa. She was 82.

Born in Bay Harbor on April 6, 1923, she was a longtime resident of the Lake Wales area. She was a homemaker. She was Pentecostal.

Mrs. Hammond was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Hammond. She is survived by her daughters, Sharron Gillis, Bonifay, Judy Padgett, Auburndale, Faye Keilen, Winter Haven, Vickie Sharpe, Lake Wales; son, Charles Ray Hammond, Lake Wales; 11 grandchildren; six great-grand-children.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home of Lake Wales.
