ALTURAS -- Mr. Ruben J. Wilkins of Alturas died of injuries sustained in an auto accident Sunday (April 23, 2006) in Plant City. He was 21.

Born Sept. 2, 1984, in Georgia, he came to Alturas as a child from Georgia. He was a laborer for Bennett Construction. He was a Protestant.

Mr. Wilkins is survived by his parents, Buck and Debbie Sims, Alturas; brother, Trenton Sims, Alturas; sisters, Terina Williamson, Elizabeth Sims and Tasha Howard, all of Lake Wales; paternal grandmother, Betty Bass, Lake Wales; and maternal grandfather, Bill Whitford, Mohave Valley, Ariz.

Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Services will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Lake Wales Cemetery.
