Royal Eldred Verge, Jr.

Royal Eldred Verge, Jr., lovingly known as Bud, passed away at his residence on August 31, 2026. He was 83.

Born on April 8, 1943, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Bud lived a life centered on the things he enjoyed most and the people he loved best. He recently moved to Frostproof from Hinsdale, Massachusetts 15 months ago.

Bud had a special love for stock car racing as well as NASCAR. He enjoyed visiting many NASCAR tracks with his wife Janet. Above all, he treasured family time and the moments shared with those closest to him.

Bud was preceded in death by his father, Royal E. Verge, Sr., and his mother, Madeline Henry. He is survived by his wife, Janet Verge, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. He also leaves behind his daughter, Lisa Quail of Pittsfield, Massachusetts; his sons, Royal E. Verge, III and his wife Terrye of Silver Spring, Maryland, Keith Verge and his wife Christine of Peru, Massachusetts, and Christopher Verge of Redford, Michigan; as well as his grandchildren, Cody Quail, Dana Quail, Donovan Verge, Kadence Verge, Joseph Verge. His family will remember him with love and gratitude for the time they shared with him.
