ROY EDWARD SPURLOCK, 59

Roy Edward Spurlock of Frostproof passed away Monday, November 10, 2008 at the Winter Haven Hospital.

Born July 2, 1949 in Frostproof; he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Frostproof, the V.F.W., and the Little League Board for Soccer, Baseball and Football. He was also an umpire and involved in the city planning and zoning.

Survivors include his wife, Audrey M. Spurlock of Frostproof; daughters, Pamela Hadden (husband – Carlton) of Lake Wales, Carmen Hood (husband – Billy Jr.) of Frostproof and Melodie Davis (husband – Miles) of Frostproof; daughter by marriage, Cheryl Hendry of Frostproof; son by marriage, Berry Hendry (wife – Dorinda) of Avon Park; sisters, Mary Joyce Barnes of Frostproof and Norma Dean Gables of Odenville, AL; brothers, Bobbie Spurlock of Frostproof, James “Buddy” Spurlock of Lakeland and Ray Spurlock of Frostproof; and 8 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Thursday, November 13, 2008 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 14, 2008 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Frostproof. Interment will follow at the Silver Hill Cemetery.
