Roy Eugene Millar, 93

Roy Eugene Millar of Sebastian, Haines City and previously Miami, Florida passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. Roy was born in Haines City to the late Garrett and Lena Millar on October 11, 1928. He retired as a Cable Splicer for FP&L Miami Division after 42 years. He was a member, Deacon, and Head Usher of the Miami Shores Baptist Church, a Master Mason of F&A Masons of Florida Lodge #145 for 65 years, and loved to do woodwork and gardening. His love and passion were his grandchildren, family, and decorating his home for Christmas. For a few years his home was part of the Miami Dade Christmas Light Parade.

Roy was preceded in death by his wife for 52 years, Norma Lee Millar in 2007; his mother and father, sister Shirley Patricia Ernest; his brother Lloyd Garrett Millar (Beverly); second mother Effie Millar, and nieces Patricia Smith, and Pam Millar.

He is survived by his son George Carlsen Millar (Beth) of Haines City; his grandchildren George Carlsen Millar II (Courtney), Michael Anthony Millar (Sara), and Megan Lee Millar; nieces: Kay Agee, Lou Ann Click, Robin Brooks (Chuck), and Lena Edmondson (Jesse); nephews: Lloyd G. Millar Jr. (Marsha), Don Millar, Roy Michael Millar (Lizanne); many great nieces, great nephews; dear friends Joe and Melinda Lamas, and his 2 dogs Gigi and Bailey.

A celebration of life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Lake Pierce Baptist Church, 3643 Canal Rd. Lake Wales, Fl. 33898. The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
