Roy J. Gooch

Roy Gooch of Lake Wales passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at the Grace Health Care.

He was born February 4, 1917 in Minor Hill, TN; and came here from St. Pete in 1958. He was a retired mechanic for Florida Power and of the Baptist faith. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and V.F.W.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Flora Gooch; daughters, April Lightcap (Gene) of Georgia and Dana Giles (Steven) of Leesburg; step-daughters, Jean Scheets of Lakeland and Diane Musselwhite (Clyde) of Clermont; five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 until 5:00 pm Sunday, June 9, 2013 and the funeral service will be held 10:00 am Monday, June 10, 2013 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Interment will be held 2:30 pm Monday, June 10, 2013 at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
