Rosie Lee Brackin of Lake Wales passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale. She was born October 5, 1941 in Lake Hamilton to the late William Sinns and Viola Sinns Boston; she was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a retired secretary from Central Park II in Haines City and a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Alfred. She was a Dolly Parton fan, enjoyed reading Jude Deveraux romance novels and was proud to have met Ms. Deveraux. Rosie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. Brackin in 2004. Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Gomez (Anthony) of Auburndale and Marilyn Cordell (Victor) of Lakeland; son, Robert Waid (Carol) of Lake Wales; brother, Tommy Sinns of Florida; sisters, Ida Mae Nolin of Davenport, Effie Barnett of Davenport, Joann Harper of Albany, GA, Shelby Jean Gonsalves of Pooler, GA, Linda Sue Irwin of Trenton, GA, Martha Matthew of Piney Woods, GA and Mary Dell of Piney Woods, GA; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Bobby Ford officiating. Interment will be held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
