LAKE WALES -- Mr. Roman Reyes-Torres of Lake Wales died of cancer Sunday (May 21, 2006) at home. He was 77.

Born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, on Sept. 10, 1928, he came to Frostproof from Puerto Rico two years ago and to Lake Wales from there more than a year ago. He was a chef for Epstein's Deli in Yonkers, N.Y. He was a Catholic.

Mr. Reyes-Torres is survived by his wife, Josefina Pantoja Reyes; daughters, Rosita Reyes Jusino, Deltona, Maria Reyes, Fairbanks, Alaska, Zoraida Osorio, Bronx, N.Y., Iris Osorio, Orlando, Josephine Romasco, Lake Wales; sons, Jorge Morales, Clermont, Hiram Morales, Long Island, N.Y.; sister, Severa Mariana Reyes, Lanchaster, Pa.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 this afternoon and 6 to 8 this evening at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lake Wales Cemetery.
