Roberta Fortenbury

Roberta Fortenbury, a loving homemaker and devoted mother, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, at AdventHealth Sebring. She was born on April 9, 1933, in Mount Vernon, Illinois.

Roberta lived a life marked by simple joys and dedication to her family. She loved to garden, spending much of her time growing vegetables. Shopping was another pleasure for her, with Walmart being her favorite place to visit.

She was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Roberta’s family was very important to her, and she leaves behind her daughter, Sandy Fortenbury of Fort Worth, Texas; son, Ray Fortenbury and his wife, Barb of Frostproof; and brother, Jack Crocker and his wife Caroline of St. Augustine; along with one grandchild, Billy Ray and wife Josie Fortenbury and two great-grandchildren, Aura and Lily.

Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, Zack Fortenbury, her daughter Margaret Machlan, and her grandson David Fortenbury.
