Robert Lee Whittemore

Robert Lee Whittemore of Lake Wales passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023 in the home that he built.

Born January 21st, 1939 in Lake Wales, Robert was a Baptist, a retired diesel mechanic, and amateur banjo picker. He loved reading, working with his hands, and being in nature.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents TK Whittemore and Marie Browning Matchett. He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Eunice Whittemore; his children Danny Whittemore (Rachel) and Kathy Nichols (Jeff); his three grandchildren, Joseph Nichols of Babson Park, Kristina Nichols, and Andrew Nichols (Cheryl) of Lake Wales; and two great-grandchildren, Kayla Lemay and Alyssa Lemay.

The memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to The Nature Conservancy ( https://preserve.nature.org/page/80429/donate/1 ) or Lake Wales Public Library ( https://www.givecf.org/friends-of-the-lake-wales-public-library/ ) would be appreciated.
