Robert F. "Bob" Massey

Robert F. “Bob” Massey of Lake Wales passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015 at his residence.

He was born December 3, 1934 in Lake Wales to the late Robert Bruce & Sarah Keen Massey; and has been a lifelong resident of the area. He retired from G.T.E. in 1991, he attended the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Frostproof and served in the National Guard. He was a member of the Lake Wales Masonic Lodge and enjoyed hunting, fishing and working cows.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Sandra T. Massey; three daughters, Lauri Rhoden (George) of Indian Town, FL, Lanie Kennedy (Bob) of Shellman, GA and Leah Massey of Lake Wales; sister, Doris Griffin of Winter Haven; four grandchildren, Robert, Josh, Cain and Shawn; and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home with Joe Martin officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Wounded Warrior Project (Post Office Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675) or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105).
