Babson Park--Robert Dencil Lake, 60, of Babson Park passed away Sunday, November 11, 2007 due to heart failure at his home.

Born March 25, 1947 in Lakeland, FL; he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a electrician and a member the R.R.P.O.A., the V.F.W., and the N.R.A. He was a veteran of Viet Nam, serving in the U.S. Army; he was also a volunteer fire fighter for the Department of Forestry.

Robert was preceded by his grandson, Steven Tyler Davis; sister, Frances E. Crews; and parents, Homer D. & Sadie Lake. Survivors include his daughters, Janis D. Davis of Haines City; Karen Ann Lake of Lakeland; brothers, Henry Lake of Lake Wales; Franklin Lake of Lakeland; sisters, Martha Angold of Lake Wales; Effie Craddick of Lakeland; Cathy Collins of Avon Park; grandchildren, James Austin Davis; Daniel Robert Davis; Stephanie Lee Davis; Robert Lee Drake; Carter "CJ" Balkum; several nieces & nephews and an abundance of close friends.

The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 17, 2007 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales.
