Robert Harmeling

Robert Keith Harmeling passed away at home in Lake Wales on Monday, September 8, 2014 from natural causes.

Bob served as a captain in the Army during World War II.
He volunteered his time through Hospice, the Lake Wales Care Center, Meals on Wheels and as an elder in his church. He also gave of his time through various other committees and organizations through his life. Bob was born on May 10, 1921 in Adell, Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Jonathan and Lillie Harmeling, his brother Bill Harmeling, sister Francis Hesslink and daughter Barbara Lynn Harmeling.

He is survived by his wife Ellen, his children Tom (Judy) Harmeling of Babson Park, Kent(Jackie) Harmeling of Orlando, Kay (Mike) Kemmer of Ormond Beach, Pane (Bruce) Holdorff of Lakeland, Mike (Debbie) Harmeling of Lake Wales, Bruce (Caroline) Bollman of Mason,Ohio,John (Kay) Harmeling of Lake Wales, Rick (Tina) Harmeling of Lakeland.
His surviving Siblings include Marcia Raymond of Laramie, Wyoming, Neva Sutton of Novi, Michigan, Nory Leicht of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Ginna Meissner of Avon Park, Florida and Dave (Ruth)Harmeling of Hingharn, Wisconsin. He is also survived by 31 grandchildren, 45 great
grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. His legacy of faith and love will live for generations.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be greatly appreciated to the Care Center of Lake Wales at 140 East Park Avenue, Lake Wales, 33853 and the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Wales at 16 N 3rd Street, Lake Wales, 33853.

A celebration of his life will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, September 11th at First Presbyterian Church of Lake Wales with Rev. Chad Reynolds officiating.
