ROBERT LOUIS STOCKARD, SR

Robert “Hardrock” Stockard, 89, of Winter Haven, Florida passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at Brandywyne Health Center in Winter Haven, FL.

He was born on September 15, 1929, in Greensboro, NC to the late Victor and Ruth (Herndon) Stockard and has been an area resident since 1993. He was a manager for over 30 years at Southern Bell Telephone Company. He was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America, Sun Ray United Methodist Church Choir and served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nannie Stockard who passed in March, 2016. Survivors include his daughter, Susan S Hiawati of Oil City, PA and son, Robert L. Stockard, Jr. and his wife, Christine of Rowlett, TX; sisters, Marjorie S Holyfield of Lake Worth, FL and Rebecca S Mangum of Kernesville, NC and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2018 and the funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 25 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof.
