Robert E. Bique II passed away peacefully at 9:45 am August 5th, 2016, on his 52nd Birthday, at the James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital surrounded by his family, from a synovial sarcoma which he was diagnosed with in 2010.
Born on August 5th, 1964, in Portsmouth, Virginia, to Robert E. Bique Sr. and the late Dolores M. Bique, Robert, or Bobby as he was known by many, had been a resident of Lake Wales for 10 years. Bobby's 52 years, were filled with the joy that only a father, a husband, a son, and a child of God can experience. Robert served in the United States Air Force from 1982-1988. He had been successful in retail management between 7-11 and Rent-A-Center before he became permanently disabled in 2005. Throughout his rich life, he was a volunteer at Hillcrest Elementary, Bok Academy, and Harrison School for the Arts. Bobby was a kind and caring man who always offered a helping hand and an ear to listen. He could sit down with anyone and find something in common with them: sports, politics, or religion.
He will be deeply missed and is survived by his wife, Melanie Raymundo Bique, his only son, Nicholas J. Bique, his father, Robert E. Bique Sr., siblings: Kathryn Bique of Minneapolis, Minnesota, James Bique of Jacksonville, Florida, Theresa DiMercurio of Jacksonville, Florida, Fred and Cheryl De Zouche of Kingsland, Georgia, John and Helen Coleman of Williamsburg, Virginia, Brian and Ellen Dees of Mulberry, Florida, and by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held Monday, 5PM on August 8, 2016, at the Lake Wales Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, the Bique Family asks that donations be made in his name to Moffit Cancer Center.
