Robert William Applegate of Frostproof passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023 at his residence.

He was born July 10, 1938 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Robert and Gladys Applegate; he moved to Frostproof from Indiana 30 years ago. Robert was a retired welder and a veteran of the United States Navy who served from 1956 until 1964. He had a sense of humor and used to sing and perform at Camp Inn. He loved to hunt, fish, and race cars.

Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Joseph Burke. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Patty Applegate; sons, Robert Applegate, Jr. of Paoli, Indiana, Dan Applegate and wife Leigh Ann of Anderson, Indiana, David Applegate and wife Elaine of Fortville, Indiana, Jeff Applegate of Frostproof, and Patrick Applegate and wife Michalle Smith of Frostproof; sisters, Karon Pharis of Noblesville, Indiana, Cindy Swango and husband Jim of Saint Petersburg, and Vicki Baily and husband Gary pf Eagle Town, Indiana; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
