Rita S. Hashman

Rita S. Hashman of Lake Wales passed away Friday, March 20, 2009 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

She was born October 24, 1938 in Indiana; she came here in 2002 from Indianapolis, IN. She was a retired secretary for General Motors and of the Protestant faith. She enjoyed riding around her neighborhood in her golf cart and spending time with her friends. She also enjoyed watching movies, reading magazines and her Indiana newspapers and would share them with her friends and neighbors.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Hashman. Survivors include her sister, Charlotte Owens of Whitestown, IN; step-daughter, Karen Bryant of Milledgeville, GA; step-son, David M. Hashman of Arvada, GA.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until service time at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Hilligoss officiating. Interment will follow at the Rolling Hills Cemetery in Winter Haven. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Diabetes Foundation, envelopes are available at the funeral home.
