Rita Best Donahoe

Rita Best Donahoe of Frostproof passed away Monday, June 15, 2009 at her residence due to heart failure.

She was born September 27, 1908 in Hardee County to the late W.B. & Cornelia Best; she was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a retired farmer and citrus grower and a member of the Athens Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing and traveling.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband, James Donahoe, four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Guelda Wise (Junior Wise) of Frostproof; three grandsons, nine great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Frostproof. Interment will follow at the Silver Hill Cemetery.
