Richard A. "Dick" Rippee

Richard A. "Dick" Rippee of Indian Lake Estates passed away Monday, November 21, 2011 at Tampa General Hospital.

He was born July 1, 1935 in Lawrence County, AR to the late Azril and Dora (Nicks) Rippee; and came to this area from Horton, MI eleven years ago. He was owner/operator of Dairy Delite ice cream shop in Jackson, MI, was a former truck driver, and enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara J. Rippee; daughters, Jeanette Darnell (Harley) of Jackson, MI, Linda Etzel (Gregg) of Holland, MI, Bonnie McWatters (Ken) of Brighton, MI, Debbie Thams of Farmington, MI, Sherry Gibson of Grand Haven, MI, Gwen Rippee of Royal Oak, MI, and Chris Craig of West Bloomfield, MI; sisters, ThurmaLee Triplitt of Stevensville, MI, Anne Basham (Bill) of Sudbury, MA, Mona Messenger of Guntersville, AL, Dona Zuckerman (Larry) of Marco Island, FL, Raylene Izak (John) of Ft. Payne, AL, Betty Ellington (Troy) of Oakland, MD, Brenda Lynn Jones (Leon) of Arkansas, and Pat Cousins (Paul) of Dexter, MI; brother, Wally Steward (Sharon) of Topinabee, MI; 12 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, and 7 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Michigan. Donations may be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Association (4902 Eisenhower Blvd, Suite 295, Tampa, FL 33634).
