Richard Guy Meyers

Richard Guy Meyers of Lake Wales passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the Florida Hospital Orlando.

He was born June 18, 1935 in Williamsport, PA to the late Henry Ellsworth & Margaret Amy (Button) Meyers; he came here from Williamsport, PA in 1987. He was retired, a member of the Wayside Baptist Church and a veteran of Korea, serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veteran and the North American Fishing Association. He was also a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Bernice Shields Meyers; daughters, Tambria Davis of Lake Wales and Amy Clark of White Haven, PA; step-daughter, Sandy Holt of Gas City, IN; step-sons, Edward Holt of Lake Wales and Richard Holt of Lake Wales; sister, Sandra J. Barnett of PA; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Funeral service will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at the Wayside Baptist Church in Lake Wales. Burial will be held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
