Richard Cody Kirkland, 29

Cody Kirkland of Lake Wales passed away Friday, August 29, 2025.

He was born February 6, 1996, in Bartow; he was a resident of other towns but decided to settle back in Lake Wales three years ago. Cody loved his career in construction and in his free time he could be found fishing or at the jellyfish pond. His Saturdays were spent cheering for his nieces and nephews at their sporting events. Cody found joy in helping care for his 3rd grade sweethearts children alongside her.

Cody is survived by his daughter, Gracelynn Szczepanik of Saint Augustine; siblings, Sissy Hannah White and husband Joel of Clermont, Amber Smith and husband Tyler of Lake Wales, James Moss and wife Alexis of Bartow, Daniel Anderson and wife Savanah of Saint Augustine, and their children; mother, Theresa Kirkland; Rachel Mamma and Uncle Bruce, and friends.
