Richard Lewis Johnson

Richard Lewis Johnson of Auburndale, FL passed on Thursday, January 5, 2023. He was born June 09, 1984, in Augsburg, Germany to Steven and Susan Johnson.

Richard was a Veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom – serving two tours in Iraq. Among his decorations are The Army Commendation Medal (3 ^rd ), Army Achievement Medal (3 ^rd ), Army Good Conduct Medal (3 ^rd ), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) Expeditionary Medal, GWOT Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal W/ Campaign Star, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal W/ M Device, and The Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal. He served honorably in The United States Army, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant (P) as a Combat Paramedic.

By descent Richard was inducted into The National Society of the Sons of American Revolution.

Richard had two months remaining of his Master of Arts in Chaplaincy at Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina. Richard believed his calling was to volunteer his services and fight the stigma on Mental Health concerning all Veterans. Pending contact with the university, our hope is to receive his Master of Arts Degree posthumously. He simultaneously devoted his life to his family and nurturing his children. He was the maker whose name is the Lord of hosts firmly built upon faith held humbly together by hope and ever lit by the light of God’s love.

Richard is survived by his wife of eight years, Allison W. Johnson; their two beautiful children Álainn M. Johnson, Augustine C.S. Johnson; parents Steven and Susan Johnson of Lake Wales; sister, Jocelyn C. Lacy (Tish Lacy) of Beaumont, California; and brother Steven M. Johnson, Jr. (Sabrina Johnson) of Moneta, Virginia; maternal grandmother Janet Daly of Haverhill, Massachusetts; among various aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be held at Victory Church 1401 Griffin Rd, Lakeland, FL 33810 on January 14, 2023, at 2:00P.M.
