Richard Albert Gibbs, 87

Richard Albert Gibbs of Babson Park passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at his residence.

He was born January 10, 1935 in Kenosha, Wisconsin to the late Richard and Mary Gibbs; he moved to Babson Park from Dade City in 1972. Richard was a retired purchasing agent from Latt Maxcy and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was an active member of First Christian Church of Babson Park which he loved attending. Richard loved trains, airplanes, and working in the yard. Over everything, he loved his grandchildren and enjoyed the time he spent babysitting them.

Richard was proceeded in death by his first wife, Gloria Gibbs; and children, Michael Gibbs, Stephen Gibbs, and Carla Roop. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sherrill Dawn Gibbs; sons, Bret Pierstorff and wife Cheryl of Bowling Green, and Bill Pierstorff and wife Jaime of Lake Wales; son-in-law, Eric Roop of Frostproof; sister, Judy Larson and husband Laurel of Syvester, Georgia; six grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at First Christian Church of Babson Park with Rev. Ronald Abshire and Pastor Bill Pierstorff officiating.
