Richard Shirell Dority

Richard Shirell Dority, 69, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, died August 12, 2006. Cause of death was Cancer. Mr. Dority was born June 24, 1937 in Fort Stanwicks, New York. He moved to DeFuniak Springs from New York 9 years ago. He was a dairy farmer. He was a member of the Christian Harvest Church in Lake Wales. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Pastor Angela Wells Dority for her extra care giving during the past two years. She's been more than a daughter-in-law, but a good friend to Richard and his wife Dorothy. Also we would like to thank Larry & Michelle Otte of Davenport for their help and friendship. Mr. Dority is survived by his wife of 7 years, Dorothy Ann Dority of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; children, Richard Shirell Dority of Lake Wales, Florida, Kathleen Goodwin of Oneida, New York, Donald Dority of Lake Wales, Florida, Linda Greene of Davenport, Florida, John Dority of Winter Haven, Florida, Tammy Dority of Lake Hamilton, Florida, Stanley Dority of Lake Wales, Florida; brothers, Robert Dority of Shelby, North Carolina; sister, Shirell Dority of North Carolina; 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 17, 2006 at the funeral home with Rev. Roger Fyock and Rev. David Prater officiating. Internment will follow at Lake Wales Cemetery. Marion Nelson Funeral Home of Lake Wales, Florida is in charge of local arrangements.
