Richard Daniel Amburgey

Richard “Dan” Amburgey, a cherished husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away on January 19, 2026, at AdventHealth Lake Wales. He was born on June 22, 1956, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Richard and Mary Amburgey, who preceded him in death.

Dan dedicated his career t o Aflac sales, where he made many lasting connections. He was known for his pleasant demeanor and unwavering commitment to his work. Outside of his professional life, Dan had a passion for golfing and enjoyed watching various sports, particularly baseball, football, and basketball. He was a supporter of all Michigan teams.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Rebecca "Beckie" Amburgey. Together, they created a loving home filled with laughter and warmth. Dan is also survived by his two sons, Sean Amburgey and his wife Amanda of Winter Haven, and Matthew Amburgey of Lake Wales; grandson, Logan; and siblings, Sherry Johnson of Pinckney, Michigan, and Richard Higgs of Pinckney, Michigan.
