Rhetta "Susie" Holland

Rhetta “Susie” Holland, 78, passed away on September 15, 2026, at Oaks of Avon. She was born on September 9, 1948, in Pineville, West Virginia.

Susie will be remembered for the kindness and encouragement she shared so freely with others. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Osceola School Board, serving with dedication through her career. A member of First Baptist Church in Lake Wales, she carried her faith into the everyday ways she cared for people around her.

Among Susie’s favorite activities was making homemade greeting cards, a thoughtful expression of the love she so often extended to family and friends. She had a special way of remembering people through these cards, as well as through gift cards and other small gestures of care. She loved to encourage others and was known for offering compliments that brightened a day and made people feel seen and valued.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Holland, with whom she shared her life; her daughters, Tina Marie Campbell of Lake Wales, Florida, and Rhetta Denise Gonzalez and her husband, Robert, of Debary, Florida; her grandson, Quinton Gonzalez; her granddaughter, Haley Gonzalez; and her brother, Gary Don Parks and his wife, Carol, of Clermont, Florida. The love of her family was an important part of her life, and her memory will remain close to all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Murrell Parks; her mother, Doris Frances Parks; and her brother, Bill Douglas Parks.

Services will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. The family will accept friends and family from 9:30 AM until the funeral service begins at 10:00 AM.
