Rev. R.J. Legg of Lake Wales went to be with his Lord Thursday, February 18, 2010 at his residence.

He was born on September 26, 1937 in Dupont, Pennsylvania to the late Newark & Frances Legg. He attended school in Dupont,, PA and graduated from Zion Bible College in 1968. He was the founder and pastor of First Assembly of God Church in Greentown, PA. After 13 years, he and Margie moved to accept a pastorate at Everett Assembly of God in Everett, PA, where they stayed for 10 years. In 1993 he and his wife moved to accept an associate pastorate at First Assembly of God in Lake Wales, FL, where he served 10 years. He was also the director of Golden Ages at the church and a veteran of Korea, serving in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Margie Legg; daughter, Laurie Ann Stanley of Lake Wales; sister, Delores Clemens of Homosassa and Joyce Powell of Pittston, PA; brother, Newark Legg, Jr. of Dallas, PA; and two grandsons, Joshua and Joab.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Friday, February 19, 2010 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Funeral service will be held 3:00 PM, Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the First Assembly of God church in Lake Wales with Rev. Walter Nelson and Rev. A.J. Steverson officiating.
