Rev. Canon Timothy Joel Shaw, 76

Reverend Canon Timothy Joel Shaw of Winter Haven passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Winter Haven at the age of 76.

He was born January 18, 1945 in Springfield, Ohio; the only child of Delmas and Rheba Shaw. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served as a hospital corpsman on the USS Okinawa and others during the Vietnam War. He worked as a surgical technician at Winter Haven Hospital before attending Saint Leo College and Seabury Western Seminary. He was ordained an Episcopal priest and served at several churches throughout Florida. He was a member of the Society of The Holy Cross.

Rev. Canon Timothy was preceded in death by his first wife, Arlene; and his parents. He is survived by his second wife, Sandra Shaw; children, Major Retired Michael (Melody) Shaw, Stephanie (Jason) Moore, and Ricky Schulz; and grandchildren, Bryan Shaw, Makayla Shaw, Kaleb Moore, and Aiden Moore.

A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church in Winter Haven. Interment will be family only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his honor can be made to the Autism Society of Greater Orlando “ASGO” (1650 Sand Lake Road, Suite 240, Orlando, Florida 32809 or www.asgo.org).
