Reece E. Taylor of Lake Wales passed away Monday, January 5, 2009 at the Bartow Regional Medical Center due to complications from surgery.

He was born April 9, 1937 in Avon Park to Clarence & Mildred (Allen) Taylor; he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a self-employed truck driver, of the Baptist faith, and he served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge, GWRRA and the Senior Circle.

Reece was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Taylor. Survivors include his wife, Connie Taylor; daughters, Lori Reese and Joe Elbanna of Ruskin, Sharon Taylor and husband, Mark, of Fort Meade and Lou Anne Frisbie and husband, Mark, of Fort Myers; son, Reece E. Taylor Jr. and wife, Lisa, of Lake Wales; mother, Mildred Taylor of Immokalee; sister, Joann Watson of Immokalee; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, January 9, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales.
