Mr. Raymond H. "Ray" Lawrence of Indian Lake Estates died of heart failure Nov. 16, 2005, in Auburndale. He was 76.

Born in Manhattan, N.Y., on Nov. 19, 1928, he came to Indian Lake Estates from Fort Pierce eight months ago. He was a supervisor for a school health department. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a Protestant.

Mr. Lawrence is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jessie Lawrence; sons, Tim Lawrence, David Lawrence, both of Long Island; brothers, Donald Lawrence, North Carolina, Bill Lawrence, Maine; sister, Dorothy Aiello, Port St. Lucie; two grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home of Lake Wales. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
