Raymond Lester Hayes

Raymond L. Hayes of Lake Wales passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale.

He was born March 31, 1924 in Chipley to the late Raymond L. & Lennie Hayes; and he came here from Lakeland 65 years ago. He was a carpenter, of the Lutheran faith and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Erna Hayes; daughters, Christel Hayes of Lakeland, Judy Stearns (Hobey) of Chesapeake, VA, Karen Hymiller (Joe) of Ocala and Patty McCormick (Rick) of North Carolina; sons, Larry Hayes (Lucinda) of Lake Wales and Tony Hayes (Sissy); four sisters, three brothers, eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Rev. Bill Hassell officiating.
