Raquel Henson

Raquel Henson, 54 of Frostproof Florida passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015 at her residence.

She was born on February 27, 1961 in Brownsville, Texas to Juan Jose Castillo and Maria Cruz Martinez Castillo and has been a resident of the Frostproof area since 1971 moving here from Brownsville. She was a citrus worker for Ben Hill Griffin. Raquel loved being with her children and everyone else’s. She enjoyed helping people when she could and was a caregiver to her mother. She was a member of the St Catherine’s Catholic Church in Sebring. Throughout her illness she fought hard and never lost faith. She was a fighter and never gave up; she always put others before herself.

She was preceded in death by her father, Juan Jose Castillo; brother, Jose Castillo, Jr.

She is survived by her husband Autrey Gene Henson, Sr.; daughter, Rebecca Henson of Frostproof; step daughters, Rebecca Williams and husband Jeff of Avon Park, Maggie Elyard and husband Tom of Frostproof, Laurie Painter and husband Mike of Avon Park; sons, Carey Juan “CJ” Henson of Frostproof, Jessie Gene Henson of Frostproof; step sons, Marty Henson of Avon Park, Autrey Henson, Jr. of Frostproof; sisters, Rosa Moreno, Diana Garcia and Aurora Martinez all of Frostproof; mother, Maria Cruz Castillo of Frostproof; brothers, Silvestre Castillo , Javier Castillo, Gilberto Castillo and Juan Castillo all of Frostproof, Amado Castillo of Ohio, Ricardo Castillo of Winter Haven.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at the Family Life Church, 139 Bulldog Way in Frostproof with Fr. Jose Gonzalez and Willie Henson officiating. Interment will be held at the Silver Hill Cemetery.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home.
